Scandinavia’s leading production services company Swixer today announces its appointment of Giulio Musi as Executive Producer of Drama & Commercials.
Swixer is expanding its drama series, film and commercial production with the recruitment of Cannes Lions and Epicas award winning film producer and commercial director, Giulio Musi. His most recent credit is for producing the award-winning feature film Humanization (Förmänskligas), which will premiere on 27th January in Stockholm.
Musi joins to expand Swixer’s strong portfolio in TV and film, which consists of credits on major productions including BBC drama series Normal People, Netflix architecture series Abstract: The Art of Design and Prince William’s documentary Earthshot, with more major drama and commercial productions in the pipeline.
At Swixer, Musi will work with production companies and agencies looking for production services throughout Europe.
Musi graduated from the American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles, ranked as one of the most prestigious film schools in the world, under the mentorship of Back to the Future producer Neil Canton. During his time in LA, he was a script-reader for the Sundance Feature Film Department.
His feature film Humanization had its world premiere at the International Film Festival of India, IFFI, which is one of 15 film festivals accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF), along with film festivals such as Locarno, Shanghai, Karlovy Vary, Cannes and Venice. The film also had its US premiere at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, one of the most important film festivals in the US.
In the advertising industry Musi has worked on campaigns for companies such as Mastercard, ING Group, Unicef and Heineken, through advertising agencies such as McCann, Saatchi, Leo Burnett & DDB.
Swixer was founded in 2012 by producer Fatima Lagerås after a direct request from Morgan Freemans production company Revelations Entertainment in LA. She realized there was a high demand from international companies for production services in Scandinavia. Since then, Swixer has grown organically.
Swixer has expanded rapidly and has currently productions running in Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Portugal, Germany, Poland, France and the Netherlands to name a few. Swixer also has several extensive pitches for major international television productions in the pipeline. Many of their clients see them as a one-stop shop for filming in several countries.
The Swedish government’s new decision on tax credits for Swedish film production also opens up opportunities for increased demand internationally, which Swixer is ideally placed to help companies take advantage of.
Fatima Lagerås, CEO and Founder of Swixer, says: “Giulio joining our team is a testament to our commitment to producing high quality series, films and commercials all around Europe. His hire marks our ambition to grow our slate of productions and show the world why they should produce in our countries of expertise. His strong experience and credits make him a stellar lead for our drama and commercials department and we look forward to welcoming new projects with him.”
Giulio Musi, Executive Producer of Drama & Commercials at Swixer, says: “I can’t wait to get started on Swixer’s long list of production clients and credits, and to bring in more of them. Joining their brilliant team to encourage production in Scandinavia and across Europe is a dream as I know we have so much to offer producers and brands from all over the world.”
