iQIYI original Taiwanese series Lesson In Love, starring Ann Hsu, Edward Chen, Simon Hsueh, Ivy Yin, and Zhang Jinglan, will officially be streaming globally from December 11, 2022 across all iQIYI platforms.

In the official trailer for Lesson In Love released today, Ann Hsu’s character is teaching the class that Edward Chen is a character in, and she refuses to give him the attention he is trying to seek. This causes Edward Chen’s character to go into his “school bully mode”.

Determined to get the better of Ann Hsu, he not only kisses her on the cheek in front of the whole school, but also plays a prank on her to get her drenched in soda. As he works hard to urge a reaction out of his teacher, he also begins to find himself slowly attracted to her, and a budding romance ensues.

The trailer also debuts the stellar performances from Golden Bell winners Ivy Yin and Simon Hsueh in their supporting roles. Ivy Yin plays the mother of Edward Chen’s character, who gives Ann Hsu a hard slap on the face the first time the two characters meet, making for an impactful scene that audiences will remember. On the other hand, Simon Hsueh plays Ann Hsu’s caring and gentle colleague who tries to pursue her.

In Lesson In Love, Ann Hsu gets embroiled in a forbidden teacher-student romance, and constantly gets humiliated verbally and physically by Ivy Yin’s character, who is the chairman of the parent support group, even receiving a slap from her.

While she suffers a lot in the hands of Ivy Yin in the show, Ann Hsu shared that she really appreciates the role that Ivy Yin brings to the series, even joking to her co-star to hit her as hard as she can, as she cannot bring herself to hate her.

Hsu also emphasises on the core message of Lesson In Love, saying: “The romance between my character and Edward Chen’s character faces many challenges in the form of principles and the system, but she chooses to stick to her core beliefs and love fearlessly. To me, the core message of Lesson In Love is to let everyone know that once you have your mind set on something, love is able to give you the strength you need to push on.”
