Leading independent distributor All3Media International will take new formats to market this October, including innovative and entertaining dating shows Date or Drop and The Love Trap. Also on All3Media International’s scripted slate is the Australian Chinese historical series New Gold Mountain, alongside psychological thrillers, new detective series and escapist period dramas.
Dating shows lead All3Media International’s formats line-up. In the reality gameshow The Love Trap audiences must ask how good we really are at spotting a genuine connection. Twelve women try to win the affection of one single man over a series of dates. But whilst half of the women want to win the bachelor’s heart, the other half want to stay in the game to be one step closer to winning a big cash prize. Date or Drop is another fun and entertaining dating format where lucky singles get the chance to pick their perfect partner from a selection of hopeful dates. But if they hear something they don’t like, the culprit will take a sudden drop through a trapdoor. After five rounds of questions and drops, just the picker and their last date remain. The tables then turn, and the date is offered the choice: date or drop?
With our homes more important to us than ever before, All3Media International will present two cathartic cleaning formats, which celebrate the joy of organising and upcycling. Brand-new, thought-provoking format 100 Things challenges families to live with just 100 items for a month, whilst asking does having less stuff really makes us happier? Joining this cathartic cleaning show is successful home renovation title Sort Your Life Out. Each episode opens with a visually striking moment where the entire contents of a family’s home are laid out in front of them, before a team of top experts help transform the nation’s most cluttered homes.
Also featuring on All3Media International’s October formats line-up is fun daytime quiz show The Answer Trap. Two teams are pitted against each other as they place answers from lists into relevant categories. But there’s a twist; not all answers belong in the categories, and the decoys – Answer Traps– can catch out even the strongest players.
All3Media International will bring Close to Me to market this October, a knotty female-led thriller that joins the distributor’s premium scripted slate, following its acquisition of NENT Studios. This inventive, blacky comic psychological drama follows Jo Harding, a woman who appears to have it all: a beautiful house, a loving family and a devoted husband. But following a fall, an entire year suddenly vanishes from Jo’s memory. As she struggles to piece events together, Jo discovers that her life wasn’t quite as perfect as she imagined – and that someone will do all they can to keep a terrible secret from her.
A raft of enthralling new detective dramas feature on All3Media International’s scripted line-up. The acclaimed drama Annika stars the inimitable Nicola Walker as the sharp and enigmatic DI Annika Stranded, as she heads up a new specialist Marine Homicide Unit (MHU) on the stunning Scottish coast, with her new team including Katie Leung (Harry Potter), Jamie Sives (Game of Thrones) and Ukweli Roach (The Royals) . The new incarnation of Dalgliesh, inspired by P.D James’ best-selling detective novels, follows Inspector Dalgliesh’s career from the 1970s to the present day. Each episode solves unusual murders and reveals buried secrets whilst offering a unique setting and extraordinary cast. BAFTA winner Martin Clunes reprises his critically acclaimed and ratings-winning role as the former London Metropolitan Police detective DCI Colin Sutton in Manhunt: The Nightstalker. This four-part drama traces the story of the real-life police pursuit of a notorious serial rapist, whose 17-year reign of terror left thousands of elderly people in South East London living in fear.
Two dramatically different but equally entertaining period dramas feature on All3Media’s International scripted slate. Intrigue, secrets, and murder are at the heart of compelling Australian Chinese historical series New Gold Mountain. Starring Mulan’s Yoson An and Vikings’ Alyssa Sutherland, the four part historical saga follows the untold story of the Chinese miners during the wild west era of the Australian gold rush. Following a mysterious murder, Chinese, European and Indigenous Australians are brought together to uncover the truth. As political tensions rise, one thing is clear- nothing is ever what it seems.
Offering pure escapism for a family audience, The Larkins is the brilliant new incarnation of H.E. Bates’ beloved The Darling Buds of May. Set in the late 1950s, the six-part drama follows the story of the Larkin family led by the golden-hearted, entrepreneurial man, Pop Larkin and his wife Ma. Together with their six children, the family are fiercely loyal and hardworking, with a distinct disinterest in authority. Surrounded by the idyllic Kent countryside, this heart-warming and humorous series celebrates family and community.
