Hotstar, India’s premium video streaming service dedicated to live cricket and entertainment, is set to launch in Singapore on 1 November. Audiences in Singapore will now have front row seats to a unique mix of content spanning across live cricket, movie premieres, original series, and movies, shows from Star Vijay and Star Plus, and live news – all in one app!

As a launch bonanza, consumers can avail of free access to the last four Dream11 IPL 2020 league matches, including CSK vs. KXIP (6 pm) and KKR vs. RR (10 pm) on 1 November; DC vs. RCB (10 pm) on 2 November; and SRH vs. MI (10 pm) on 3 November.

Starting 1 November, consumers in Singapore can subscribe to the service directly through the Hotstar website or the Hotstar app on Android or iOS devices for a subscription fee of S$69.98 annually. The service will be available on connected TV devices such as Apple TV, Android TV, and Google Chromecast. All Hotstar users will also have access to two concurrent streams and unlimited download (excluding live feed) per device.

Hotstar has collaborated with StarHub to make the streaming service accessible with Indian+ on StarHub TV+ service. With this offer, all StarHub Indian+ subscribers on a 12 or 24-month contract will be able to access Hotstar, including the highly anticipated Dream11 Indian Premier League 2020 Playoffs and Final, starting November 1 at no additional charges. Indian+ is available to customers at just S$15 a month on a 24-month contract or S$25 a month on a 12-month contract. Consumers can sign up for Indian+ at the nearest StarHub outlet or online.

Hotstar’s debut in Singapore could not come at a better time, as local cricket fans will get the exclusive opportunity to live stream the Dream11 Indian Premier League (IPL) playoffs and final. As a welcome offer to fans, Hotstar will live stream the last four league matches (1 November 2020 to 3 November 2020) for free. Cricket fans also have a lot to look forward to next year, as Hotstar plans to live stream prestigious cricket tournaments such as the 2021 ICC Men’s World Cup, Asia Cup, IPL 2021, and more!

New episodes will be streamed on Hotstar first, which means that fans can enjoy the latest episode before it even airs on TV!

Viewers can also choose from a curated library of over 2,000 Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu movies, including India’s highest-grossing film of 2017 – Bahubali 2, Tamil superstar Karthik Sivakumar’s Kaithi, and Bollywood legend Irfan Khan’s Angrezi Medium. Already available in the USA, Canada, and the UK, this will be Hotstar’s first foray into Southeast Asia. Hotstar is owned by The Walt Disney Company. Earlier this year, The Walt Disney Company (through its subsidiary Novi) collaborated with the Singapore Government to bring Hotstar’s streaming service to migrant workers, offering many a sweet taste of home amidst the pandemic.
