STUDIOCANAL, Europe’s leader in production, distribution and international sales of TV series and feature films, has sold the North American rights to its Creation Original drama series VernonSubutex and Danish comedy drama series Pros and Cons to Topic, the new SVOD platform which launches on November 21st, 2019 and will stream throughout the US and Canada.
Starring internationally-renowned French actor Romain Duris (The New Girlfriend, All The Money In The World), Vernon Subutex is a 9 x 30’ drama series co-written and directed by leading creative talent Cathy Verney. The series opened with its premiere at the second Cannes Series and was selected to screen in Los Angeles last month at Colcoa, the largest event dedicated to French films and series in the world.
Vernon Subutex, is an unemployed former owner of the legendary record shop Revolver. After being evicted from his apartment, Vernon contacts his former friends who were involved in the music world with him in the 90s. When rock star Alex Bleach dies of an overdose, leaving three mysterious video tapes behind, Vernon slips anonymously into the city where he becomes the most wanted man in Paris.
