Viacom International Studios (VIS) – Americas and Amazon announced a deal to bring upcoming series Ana to Prime Video in Latin America, which is a show created by and starring renowned Mexican actress Ana de la Reguera. The show is currently in pre-production and will soon film in Mexico. ANA will premiere on Comedy Central and be available to stream Amazon Prime Video in Latin America.
Produced by VIS Americas, ANA (10 eps. X 30 min) is a comedy series about a daughter of a Mexican beauty queen that tries to find fame and fortune as a Hollywood actor, while having to fight the passage of time and the weight of her mother’s unfulfilled dreams. The series uncovers how Ana has lived a life ruled by appearances as she searches for the iconic role that will finally allow her to flourish–but will she find herself in the process? Or, will she finally accept that she is much more like her mother than she cares to admit?
Ana de la Reguera is an accomplished actor, known for her roles in both films and TV series. Her most recent starring role was in the acclaimed Amazon Original seriesGoliath by David E. Kelley, as well as her recurring role in the hit show, Power, and as a guest on, Narcos, and Jane the Virgin. She also starred as Sister Encarnaciónopposite Jack Black in the feature film Nacho Libre. In addition, de la Reguera has been an activist and philanthropist for a long time, most recently acting as co-creator of the non-profit organization, “Los Angeles in Mexico”, that provided support to victims of the 2017 earthquakes in Mexico. She previously worked with VIMN Americas when she participated in the Mexican adaptation of the successful Comedy Central format, Drunk History.
The upcoming series ANA joins Prime Video’s growing catalogue of popular and critically acclaimed titles available throughout Latin America including VIS developed series Homens and Dani Who?, along with series such as This is Us, Falcoand Mr. Robot, licensed exclusively for subscription video-on-demand on Prime Video in Latin America.
