A+E Networks has named Patrick Vien to Group Managing Director – International, from his previous role of co-Executive Managing Director, International. In this role, Vien will be responsible for A+E Networks international portfolio and businesses. Based in New York, Vien will report to Paul Buccieri, President, A+E Networks Group.
Vien, who has a well-established pedigree working in international media, joined A+E Networks in 2017 as co-executive managing director, International. In this role, he had oversight of A+E’s businesses throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa. In addition, Vien oversaw programming strategy for channels outside the U.S. He has also been responsible for overseeing the company’s international content sales across 200+ territories. Most recently, Vien and his team spearheaded the launch of a co-production division, and the company’s first international scripted co-production, Miss Scarlet & The Duke, as well as the new unscripted series, Damian Lewis: Spy Wars.
Prior to joining A+E, Vien was President of Pulse Films, a global content studio, whose titles included Lemonade with Beyonce for HBO and the feature film American Honey starring Shia LeBoeuf. He’d previously been Chairman and CEO of Warner Music International, President of NBC Universal Global Networks and founder of U.S. cable networks TRIO and Newsworld International.
