Dingdong Dantes to star in Descendents of the Sun Remake

Actor renews ties with GMA, to star in local adaptation of the sensational Korean drama series

Premier dramatic actor Dingdong Dantes once again renewed his contract with GMA Network in a signing ceremony on April 22. It was also revealed during the contract signing that the actor will top bill the much-awaited Philippine adaptation of the popular Korean drama series Descendants of the Sun.

Dingdong Dantes has been with GMA since he started his acting career 21 years go. In an Instagram post, he paid tribute to the GMA where he spent more than half of his life. It is also where he met his now wife, actress Marian Rivera after starring in the hit Philippine remake of Marimar. Dingdong also headlined many notable drama series including The Other Mrs. RealBow of Justice, and his latest project, Color of My Blood.

GMA Network President and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon expressed gratitude to the actor: “Dingdong is truly one of our home-grown talents. He embodies what GMA stands for: quality, professionalism, integrity and above all, heart.”
