The Asia-Pacific Satellite Communications Council (APSCC) has named members to a new Succession Planning Committee (SPC) to commence a wide-ranging search for a candidate to take on the leadership of the Organization to succeed Seong Joong Kim who will retire in April 2019.
The SPC will review applications, interview candidates and make recommendations to the APSCC Board of Directors. Members of the APSCC SPC are Patrick French (Senior Vice President Business Development, ABS), Gregg Daffner (CEO, GapSat & APSCC President), Seong Joong Kim (Executive Director, APSCC), Huang Baoazhong (Executive Vice President, APT Satellite), Patrick Wong (Managing Director, Cometech EF Data), Kevin Reyes (Senior Director, ILS), Terry Bleakley (Vice President, Intelsat) and Mark Hyung Joon Kim (COO, KTSAT).
“APSCC has established this Succession Planning Committee to ensure that the Organization continues to harness and expand the promotion of satellites for communications and other commercial services throughout Asia through the new leadership role.” said Gregg Daffner, President of APSCC.
The APSCC Board of Directors have directed the President and the SPC to use this opportunity to seek a leader for APSCC whose main goal will be to actively engage the APSCC on behalf of its members to take a more prominent role in the rapidly changing Asian space industry with a special focus on key regulatory and market assess issues as well as an expansion of APSCC membership into new space and other emerging commercial space endeavours. Interested parties or any recommendations should be made known to the SPC prior to the end of March 2019 for consideration.
