VICELAND announced a bold new venture placing live programming at the center of its schedule — airing VICE LIVE two hours a night, four nights a week, starting Monday February 25 from 9-11PM ET.
VICE LIVE taps directly into the core of VICE’s DNA – fearless irreverence, boundless curiosity and a DIY sensibility. Originating out of VICE’s buzzing Brooklyn Headquarters, VICE LIVE will broadcast live (give or take seven seconds or so) and cover all of the day’s hottest topics and trends, capitalizing on VICE’s deep bench of young creators with diverse voices from its offices around the world.
The show will be another platform for audiences to frame the rapidly-shifting, absurd and often messy culture around them, magnifying the multi-faceted lifestyle/cultural content and commentary that VICE was built on. Whether it’s on the culture at-large or specific trends in food, fashion, sex, drugs, music, videogames and beyond VICE LIVE will be hyper-topical, but far from journalistic — it is the VICE Guide to Right Now.
The nightly show will be centered by a panel of sharp, funny, pop-culture-obsessed polymath panelists, each with their own distinct and authentic points of view. They are:
● Comedian/actress Marie Faustin
● Writer/comedian/internet provocateur Zack Fox
● Comedian/director/photographer Sandy Honig
● Rapper/host Fat Tony
The show itself will continually be experimenting and evolving in real-time: any given episode could feature comedy pieces, celebrity visits, short-form videos, and field pieces and check-in’s from VICE’s outposts across the globe. Social media will factor into VICE LIVE constantly as viewers interact with the show in real-time, creating a 360-degree platform-agnostic experience that mirrors the fast pace of a younger audiences’ media appetite.
To lead the daily show, VICELAND has hired executive producer Jeremy Hutchins (VH1 LIVE, 106 & PARK) and director Joe Perota (Last Week Tonight, The Chris Gethard Show) who will work alongside VICELAND executive producers Nomi Ernst Leidner (SVP of development and EP of the Emmy-nominated Gaycation & Woman), Jeff Sammon (Desus & Mero, Tosh.0, Jimmy Kimmel Live) and Catherine Whyte (VICELAND’s EVP and head of production, MTV’s The Hills).
