ChuChu TV goes to South Korea with SK Broadband

June 21, 2018 by TVA Editor

ChuChu TV, the world’s most popular preschool channel on YouTube, has notched up another landmark with its partnership with SK Broadband, South Korea’s leading internet service provider and VOD platform.

The partnership will allow SK Broadband to offer ChuChu TV content to its subscriber base on its IPTV platform and will form a part of its ‘Learn English’ program.

Established in 2013, ChuChu TV offers educational videos starring characters ChuChu, ChaCha, Chika and Chiku and their animal friends. The label’s prominent channels include Nursery Rhymes and Songs, TV Surprise, TV Funzone and TV Storytime.

Their content features original nursery rhymes, learning songs and stories with positive and motivational messaging at its heart and is set to ChuChu TV’s signature music, making it a distinctive offering that has won over children and their caregivers across the world.

With 17.7 million subscribers, ChuChu TV is the world’s most popular kids and family entertainment channel making it the 42nd most subscribed YouTube channel ever. Overall, ChuChu TV’s family of channels has over 18.5 billion views and 26 million subscribers worldwide, making it the largest kids and family brand on YouTube.

One of its videos, “Johny Johny Yes Papa” has even crossed a record breaking 1.48 billion views making it the 42nd most watched video ever on YouTube.

ChuChu TV already has more than 10 billion views and 14 million subscribers in Asia. The new association with SK Broadband would thus be a significant partnership for ChuChu TV to extend its brand deep in to South Korea.

In addition, SK Broadband will also add English subtitles to make the content customized and meaningful for the South Korean audience, as an effective learning English tool for Korean kids.

“We are thrilled to partner with SK Broadband, a pre-eminent partner, to bring ChuChu TV to South Korea on their IPTV platform. Their expertise and reach will help bring the brand to a larger audience in South Korea, inspiring and entertaining them in ChuChu TV style,” said Vinoth Chandar, Founder and CEO of ChuChuTV.

The ChuChu TV YouTube channel is the property of ChuChu TV Studios, a media and technology firm based in Chennai, India. The company’s mission is to connect with children throughout the world with colorful, upbeat songs, each one featuring a memorable cast of ChuChu TV characters. ChuChu TV family of channels also includes international language offerings in Spanish and Portuguese. More information is available on www.chuchutv.com.
