Making headway on the second day of Filmart, TVB once again drew the crowd to its booth with a parade of artistes from its recent programmes to showcase major joint productions with various parties and TVB’s top variety shows. TVB Anywhere has also announced two strategic business collaborations to demonstrate the diversified business development of TVB and its leading role among global Chinese media.
TVB has produced various dramas with partners from Mainland China that received excellent ratings. For instance, Legal Mavericks has received the Best Screenplay Award in the 2018 New York Festivals World’s Best TV and Films. Heart and Greed 3 and Line Walker 2 were proved to be a tremendous success with over 1.5 billion and 2.5 billion of online views respectively.
Selected programmes of joint productions and variety shows were showcased at the booth, including Deep In The Realm Of Conscience and The Defected jointly produced by Tencent Penguin Pictures and TVB; Another Era jointly produced by China Radio Film & TV Press, iQIYI and TVB; tentpole drama in production including Big White Duel, Wonder Women and Forensic Heroes IV; the new large-scale joint production with huge investment and resources to build a new IP Triumph in the Skies 2020 jointly presented by Tencent Pictures, China Radio Film & TV Press and TVB.
TVB Anywhere also announced two important business collaborations, including e-Sports fever: Alisports – TVBI WESG 2018/19 Strategic Partnership Announcement and Dedicated Tablet for TVB Anywhere Announcement. e-Sports has become an internationally recognised form of competition and the World Electronic Sports Game (WESG) is one of the most popular e-Sports competitions. In the 2018/19 games, Hong Kong and Macau will soon be included into the games as an official division and Cantonese narrations will be implemented for the first time. TVBI has entered into an agreement with Alisports to become their WESG strategic partner. TVB Anywhere has obtained the broadcast right for comprehensive coverage of all WESG 2018/19 gaming events.
TVB Anywhere launched another collaboration project between TVB Anywhere and AVITA under Nextsgo Company Limited. A dedicated tablet for TVB Anywhere will be launched in Canada in mid-2018 and a 24-month service package will come together with the tablet. TVB Anywhere will also launch an international service package for global audience to enjoy extraordinary TV entertainment service.
This year, Shaw Brothers Pictures International Limited also occupies an exhibition booth, showcasing film and podcast drama productions with stellar line-up. myTV SUPER, TVB Anywhere and big big channel have been respectively launched and unexpectedly well received. Subscriber numbers are constantly climbing. To take good care of overseas clients and audiences, event proceedings were streamed LIVE on TVB Anywhere, myTV online version, myTV SUPER, big big channel, TVB Entertainment News, TVB ENEWS mobile app and TVB eye mobile app, breaking free of geographical barriers and bringing latest event news to overseas destinations.
