‘Under Pressure’, a co-production between Globo and Conspiração Filmes had received four FIPA D’Or awards under the series category, during the 31st Festival International de Programmes Audivisuels (FIPA), held on 23-28 January in Biarritz, France.
In addition to the best series award, Marjorie Estiano was awarded as best actress for her performance as surgeon Carolina; Julio Andrade won the statuette for his role as doctor Evandro; and Jorge Furtado, Lucas Paraizo, Antonio Prata and Marcio Alemão won the award for Best Screenplay. The awards were received by screenwriter Lucas Paraizo during the ceremony held last Saturday. Fundamentally based on the precepts of independence and quality, FIPA had a total of 24,750 viewers this year.
‘Under Pressure’ features the fast-paced daily routine of a group of doctors struggling to overcome adversities to keep patients alive at an under-resourced hospital in the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. The series is one of the flagships of Globo’s new productions released to the market, stemming from the network’s investments and efforts to take on new approaches towards storytelling.
