Paris – Boutique financier and distributor About Premium Content (APC) has signed a wave of new deals for its diverse slate of scripted content with new broadcasters across Europe and Australasia picking up Valkyrien, Contact, and The Forest.
The high-concept 8-hour original drama Valkyrien, about a physician trying to save his wife’s life in an underground clinic, has been picked up by Canal+ in France, Canal+’s Ale Kino in Poland, UPC in Switzerland, SBS in Australia, Rialto in New Zealand, Deutsche Telekom in Germany, with Studio Hamburg securing home entertainment and EST rights for German speaking countries. oh
The series, in which APC has invested and holds all global distribution rights, is produced by Norwegian indie Tordenfilm for NRK and written by showrunner Erik Richter Strand. The series is currently available on Walter Presents in the UK following a successful run on the UK’s Channel 4, Walter Presents in the US, and NRK in Norway. The English-language remake rights have been sold to Liza Marshall’s independent production company Hera Films.
APC’s two French series Contact (8 x52’) and The Forest (6 x 52’), which has recently been awarded best French 52-minutes series of the year at La Rochelle fiction festival, have already been sold to several territories.
Contact (8 x 52’), a thrilling serialized procedural series about a man who can see the secret memories of any object he touches, has been sold by APC to Channel 4’s Walter Presents in the UK, US and Australia as well as TVP in Poland and UPC in Switzerland. The show is produced by Carma Films and has been aired successfully on TF1 last month.
The Forest (6 x 52’), a gripping missing-persons crime mystery, has been picked up by NPO in the Netherlands, AMC in Spain, Canal+’s Ale Kino in Poland, VRT in Flanders, and RTS in French-speaking Switzerland. The show is also produced by Carma Films, and will air on France Televisions shortly.
