Kuala Lumpur – Expending from its popularity in the Asia Pacific territory, the non-dialogue slapstick comedy “Harry & Bunnie” and action comedy “Chuck Chicken” will soon be catching the eyes of audiences in multiple countries across the globe. Animasia Studio, a Malaysia based animation studio, achieving its first time success working with Netflix by licensing two of its newest properties worldwide.
The 78 x 7-minute series, Harry & Bunnie is available on Netflix worldwide except for China; and the 52 x 11-minute series, Chuck Chicken soon can be seen in multiple continents. Both shows are available on Netflix. Boosting from its current airtime on the premium kids platform, Disney Channel Asia Pacific, Harry & Bunnie has also widen its presence on Free TV channels in Malaysia such as TV3 and TV9 and while in China, landing on premium platforms such as Tencent Video, Youku, YanHua Media, LuTong Net, Suma Vision, and CIBN.
Chuck Chicken has recently been signed to Sasbadi Holdings Berhad (Malaysia), a publisher of educational materials. This collaboration grants publishing rights to Sasbadi Holdings with a 3 Years licensed period to develop a range of books based on Chuck Chicken, in which these publication materials such as Collectable Books, Activity Books and Comic Books will be marketed and distributed across the globe.
Sasbadi Holdings has been developing in-house technologies to provide digital education solutions as well as to complement its print publishing business since 2011. Just like many of the Group’s titles, the “Chuck Chicken” line of books by Sasbadi Holdings will also include innovative technologies like Augmented Reality and games as added value.
Riding on the preparation wave of World Cup 2018, Bola Kampung, a brand created by Animasia Studio since 2010, has successfully signed to Yes Kidz channel (Israel). A story about a football club formed by a bunch of village kids, the 2D animated 78 x 22’ Sports Action series is scheduled to be on-air in Israel in January 2018. Another popular soccer-themed series, Supa Strikas (65 x 22’, Season 1-5), has successfully reached out to more than 130 countries worldwide. Mediacorp Suria channel (Singapore) has recently picked up Season 4 & 5 of the show, the viewers can catch the actions starting from December 2017 all the way to the World Cup 2018 season. The series is already in more than 130 countries worldwide, and growing.
