Every November, the world’s top eight tennis players meet in London’s O2 Arena for the ATP World Tour Finals – the sport’s most prestigious competition after the four Grand Slams. This is the culmination of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000, which is a nine-stop, year-round global tour for the very best singles and doubles competitors in the men’s game.
From October 2017, both competitions will be shown in Sweden and Norway exclusively on MTG’s video streaming service Viaplay and pay-TV channels, with selected matches on MTG’s free-TV channels.
Peter Nørrelund, MTG EVP and CEO of MTG Sport: “The ATP World Tour Masters 1000 serves up exceptional tennis throughout the year, while the ATP World Tour Finals are a thrilling season-ender. With legends Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic battling young guns like Alexander Zverev Jr., Dominic Thiem and Grigor Dimitrov, tennis has never been so exciting. MTG is the unrivalled home of premium sport and these latest rights highlight the amazing range of our coverage.”
In addition to the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 and ATP World Tour Finals, MTG also holds the Swedish rights to the 2017 Stockholm Open (men’s singles and doubles), which takes place on 15-22 October.
MTG broadcasts more than 50,000 hours of high quality live sport every year on its TV channels and streaming services, including NHL and KHL ice hockey, UEFA Champions League, English Premier League, La Liga, Formula One, NFL American football, boxing, UFC and golf.
