The mystery-thriller series The Valley arrives in the US and other markets. Beta Film has sold the show in the US, Canada and UK & Ireland to Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium thriller, suspense and horror streaming service. The series is now available on Shudder in all three territories.
The Valley was the first one-hour original production for the German pay TV channel TNT Serie. The high-quality thriller series is the latest example of non-English European shows to garner great success overseas. Produced by Beta’s subsidiary Bantry Bay, the acclaimed series has been sold by Beta Film to 50 territories worldwide, among them Latin America.
The series is set in a misty autumn vineyard in Western Germany, where a man who lost his memory wakes up near the corpse of a young woman hanging in the harvested grapes. The male lead, played by Friedrich Muecke (“Friendship!”), delves as a stranger into the microcosm of an uncanny town and its inhabitants, who hide secrets as dark as the waters of the nearby river. Beta is cooperating with the US production company Critical Content on the US remake. The Valley (“Weinberg”) is produced by Bantry Bay Productions and Twenty Four 9 Films for TNT Serie.
