Singapore– With the completion of its move to a new office in Mediapolis, Mediacorp is opening its doors to the public with the launch of The Mediacorp Experience, the latest attraction in one-north that gives visitors a chance to experience the magic of media, take a glimpse at behind-the-scene moments and learn about the history and future of broadcasting in Singapore.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr Ernest Wong, Chairman of Mediacorp said: “Incorporating the Mediacorp Experience in our new home has been an ambitious undertaking and a great challenge. We hope that visitors of the tour can get a sense of how seriously we strive for quality and relevance in our content. These are important attributes that will determine our success in the face of increasing competition from new media platforms.”
For 90 minutes, visitors to the ticketed Mediacorp Experience will be immersed in an interactive journey through space and time. Along the way, they can choose to take part in a TV production, have a go at being a news presenter, a radio deejay or just glam up for the cover of 8 Days magazine.
Said Dasheng Toh, Head of Commercial Planning and Solutions, Mediacorp, “The Mediacorp Experience, the MES Theatre at Mediacorp and our outdoor event spaces, all open to public, make Mediacorp Campus a new touchpoint for us to deepen our engagement with audiences. With the Mediacorp Experience, we are opening the inner sanctum of Mediacorp to the public. It’s a perfect outing for families, friends and tourists. And suitable for corporate and school outings as a learning journey.”
The official opening of the Mediacorp Experience was held on 3 August 2017 at Mediacorp Campus, and attended by some 60 guests from the business community and the mediaindustry.
Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Minister for Communications and Information & Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs, was the guest-of-honour at the event.
