SHANGHAI – Camille Marotte has expanded his representation with the global boutique production company The Sweet Shop to include parts of Asia, with a focus on China and Japan, as well as North and South America.
The move comes in the wake of increasing demand for the Paris-based director’s distinctive work in these regions. A style known for its naturalistic and cinematic feel, Camille comes with an impressive resume of many different projects that combine his skills as a director, cinematographer, photographer and motion designer.
Camille said, “When I started working with The Sweet Shop I was really surprised by the genuine feeling I had to be part of a worldwide family. They always had a desire to develop and push me forward to increasingly ambitious projects, so it’s natural for me to expand my role and be a stronger part of this family.”
Camille’s strength lies in his ability to combine stunning visuals with deep technological know-how, creating breathtaking, poetic images that have strong emotional resonance. He has also recently enjoyed exploring a much darker cinematic mood with storytelling projects. The Director has earned a long list of world-class clients, including Under Armour, Maybelline, Marc Jacobs, Samsung, Piaget, Chevrolet, Coca-Cola, Bose and Ralph Lauren.
“Camille’s reel has evolved beautifully since he first signed with The Sweet Shop in 2014 said Daniel Ho. There’s currently a lot of interest in him from agencies and brands directly in the Asian market. He’s looking at a lot of scripts and his ability to take incredible stills on shoots is a bonus in today’s content-driven landscape.”
Fiona King, Managing Director of The Sweet Shop representing the Japanese market, said, “Japan is now the world’s third largest advertising market, with an aesthetic that make executions highly crafted and very compatible indeed with Camille’s own style. I cannot wait to see what he’ll achieve here.”
Laura Thoel, Managing Director of The Sweet Shop in North America added, “Camille has a truly unique style but is interested in many different projects. Combine this with his restless desire to innovate, you have someone who will shine in North and South America.”
