Leading independent distributor all3media International has struck two significant package deals which will see more than 400 hours of content arriving in China, as Wings Media signs over 50 hours for its Shanghai Art Channel and online VOD platform bilibili.com picks up a wide variety of factual entertainment programming.
Wings Media (Shanghai Media Group) has acquired a diverse package of arts, gardening and history programming, securing basic cable rights to a total of 16 titles for the Shanghai Art Channel, a public service channel focusing on fine art content. Included in the deal are one-hour specials Alexandria and Egypt’s Lost Queens, two-part special Building the Ancient City: Athens and Rome (2 x 60’) and The Story of Egypt (4 x 60’), alongside all five series of Fake or Fortune (18 x 60’). Also featured are Britain’s Best Back Gardens (3 x 60’), Monty Don’s French Gardens (3 x 60’), Monty Don’s Italian Gardens (4 x 60’) and The Secret History of the British Garden (4 x 60’).
Online VOD platform bilibili.com has signed multiple titles, securing a range of content spanning subjects from cookery and technology to travel and ancient history. Gok Wan’s six-part series Gok Cooks Chinese and series one and two of Heston’s Feast (12 x 60’) are heading to China, alongside series four and five of Gordon Ramsay’s The F Word (UK) (23 x 60’), Gordon Ramsay’s Ultimate Home Cooking (20 x 30’), Gordon Ramsay’s Ultimate Cookery Course (20 x 30’) and three series of Hotel Hell (22 x 60’).
The deal with bilibili.com also features series 21 to 25 of The Gadget Show (120 x 30’), five series of Richard Ayoade’s Travel Man: 48 Hours In… (28 x 30’), and a raft of Guy Martin fronted series including two series of Our Guy in China (5 x 60’) and three series of Speed with Guy Martin (8 x 60’ and 3 x 90’). Six-part factual entertainment series Kick Ass Kung Fu, the new second series of Body Fixers (10 x 60’), Around the World in 80 Gardens (10 x 60’), The Story of Egypt (4 x 60’), and Rome – Empire Without Limit with Mary Beard (4 x 60’) have also been picked up.
