London – Drive, the production funding and distribution agency led by Lilla Hurst and Ben Barrett announce their appointment by UK producer Oxford Film and Television to distribute a highly-anticipated documentary film celebrating the life and work of Diana, Princess of Wales.
The as yet untitled 90-minute film will be built around interviews with The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry, both of whom talk openly and in depth about their mother and how her influence has shaped their lives.
Drive is distributing the film globally and has been working with Oxford Film and Television to generate pre-sales for the documentary and has already secured a pre-sale acquisition by HBO Documentary Films for the US market.
Oxford Film and Television, maker of previous documentary films featuring the British Royal family including Our Queen at 90 is producing the film for ITV in the UK. It will be broadcast on both ITV and HBO this summer, the 20th year since Princess Diana’s tragic death.
Lilla Hurst, Joint Managing Director of Drive said “We are incredibly excited to be working with OFTV on such a high-profile documentary. We are already finalising terms for a number of pre-sales with international broadcasters keen to mark the anniversary. This will undoubtedly be a programme that also holds value for many years to come.” Nick Kent, the film’s executive producer at Oxford Film and Television said “Drive is the perfect partner to work with us on such a prestigious film with huge global interest. It plays perfectly to their strengths in securing international pre-sales.”
The film will include individual contributions from many key figures in the Princess’ life and new archival material. Through the personal and intimate reflections of her two sons and of her friends and family, many of whom have never spoken publicly before, the film will offer fresh and revealing insights into Princess Diana, an iconic figure who touched the lives of millions.
