Beta Film has secured a row of deals for the political thriller series 1993 for major European territories. The new season of the Sky Italia high end success series 1992 has been sold to Sky Germany, the Spanish premium Pay-channel Movistar+/Telefonica, France’s OCS , Telenet in Belgium, Greece/Cyprus and Israel . HBO Nordic will air the series throughout Scandinavia. Sky Italia will release the new season in May.

Rome, 30 April 1993: A crowd throws coins at Italian prime minister Bettino Craxi – as if the Civil War has begun. It is the setting of 1993, the highly ambitious series about corruption, the mani pulite bribery investigations, the collapse of a political system and the chance for new powers to rise out of the ashes.

1993 is written by the creator trio Alessandro Fabbri, Ludovica Rampoldi and Stefano Sardo, who were also responsible for the first season. The show is based on an idea of Stefano Accorsi, who is taking the lead as well. Also starring are Miriam Leone, Guido Caprino, Domenico Diele and Tea Falco; Giuseppe Gagliardi directs. 1993 is a Sky Italia production realized by Wildside The Young Pope.
