MNC appoints YING GROUP at HK Filmart 2017

February 6, 2017 by TVA Editor

Singapore – YING GROUP will be the sales representative for media giant MNC Indonesia this March at the Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (HK FILMART) 2017. The award animation series Kiko will be added to Ying Group’s catalogue for the event.

As part of Ying Group’s move to expand its library and offer a wider range of genres, this move presents a new opportunity for Asian animation productions to be represented and distributed in Australia and New Zealand. This is Ying Group’s first venture into distributing animation films in the region.

Kiko is an animation series produced by MNC Animation, a subsidiary company of MNC Group. Kiko won the Panasonic Gobel Award in 2016 and will be aired on a global network channel around Southeast Asia this year. Jimmy Kim, the Senior Vice President of MNC Media commented, “Kiko started airing since 2014 in RCTI and in the number one free-to-air programme in Indonesia. Its popularity is also increasing beyond Indonesia, in markets like Singapore, Malaysia, and Brunei”.

Produced by local writers, artists and animators, the series entertains young audiences with tales of adventure, courage, and friendship. The series will begin production for its second season with a brand new look in Computer-Generated Imagery (CGI). “As the first step to introduce local original animation Kiko to the world, we have appointed Ying Group as our strategic partner to be the exclusive agent for Australia and New Zealand”, added Oei Ming Tjun, Head of Contents Sales and Support, MNC Media.

Ying Group will be a part of the Singapore Pavilion at the HK FILMART 2017, to present various programmes from factual entertainment, documentaries to dramas. Partnerships for new content distribution will also be discussed at the event.
