During the 2017 Natpe, held in Miami, the company featured telenovelas and series that captivated Brazilian audiences for their innovating storytelling, as well as the highly anticipated series Supermax, entirely shot in Spanish and co-produced by international networks.
With an increasing focus on its management and the production of multi-platform content, the network presented titles that have reached more than 100 million Brazilians on TV, series that captivated online audiences with early VOD launches through Globo Play, and telenovelas spin-offs that showcased their content engagement potential on social media.
One of the catalogue’s big bets is Supermax, Globo’s first original production for the international market. The executive presented a trailer with some of the series unreleased footage, which is in its post-production phase. On large screens, a promo reel exhibited excerpts from the productions available in the catalogue. Among the telenovelas, Time After Time is an innovative one, which stands out for its unprecedented narrative built over two phases, allowing for varied exhibition formats, following its plot. The story revolves around a forbidden love, tragically interrupted in the 19th century; and returns, 150 years later, when the couple has a second chance to fight for their story, which transcends time.
The fun and also groundbreaking Total Dreamer, is a classic story, a modern fairy tale about a humble girl who dreams of helping her family and has her life turned around after participating in a fashion contest. Lady Revolution, Burning Hearts, Wounded Past and Rising Sun (working title) wrap up the selection of telenovelas. Among the series featured in the event, Above Justice, with high portions of drama and suspense, proposes, in a very humanly way, a reflection on what is fair and acceptable when one faces extreme situations. For the fourth consecutive year of continued success in the international market, Globo also presented two feature films by Globo Films, The Moving Forest and Alone Man.
