In the last month Keshet has received two prestigious awards for innovation. Keshet Media Group received the Leadership and Innovation Award in media and television from the Israel-America Chamber of Commerce and Keshet International was named Industry Innovator of the Year at the DTVE Content Innovation Awards which took place during MIPCOM.
Israeli President Ruvi Rivlin and US Ambassador Daniel Shapiro presented the Leadership and Innovation Award to Keshet Media Group CEO Avi Nir in Tel Aviv. The Group is the only recipient of the award in the broadcasting, global production and distribution industry; the award was presented in recognition of the role it has played in promoting arts and business relations between the two countries following the volume of content Keshet has exported to the US.
Keshet International (KI) received the DTVE Industry Innovator of the Year Award recognising its long-standing commitment to innovation in television and digital media. In particular, it was acknowledged for its new cloud-based app generator Mako Tools which offers broadcasters a suite of features that can be mixed and matched to publish programme-related apps and the creation of the interactive cross media brand Touch with Ido Rosenblum (a concept which is in development with Buzzfeed for the US) which harnesses mobile device touch-screen technology to create an addictive, visual and interactive game.
Keshet’s Israeli roots mean that everything developed and produced within the Group has grown up among the “start-up nation” where technology is eagerly integrated into everyday life. The culmination of all of Keshet’s entertainment and digital prowess led the company to launch the world’s first real time voting show, Rising Star in October 2013. At heart of Keshet’s DNA is the constant desire to engage viewers beyond linear television.
