Miami – Noticias Telemundo announced “Batalla Decisiva” (Decisive Battle), its special coverage of the third and final presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, live on Telemundo, the Telemundo.com website, the Noticias Telemundo mobile app, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Led by Noticias Telemundo anchor José Díaz-Balart, the comprehensive coverage is part of #DECISION2016, the Telemundo News platform to inform and empower Hispanic voters in the United States.
“Batalla Decisiva is the last chance to see the candidates face to face, and Noticias Telemundo will offer all of the details of this crucial encounter,” José Díaz-Balart commented. “US Latino voters have a double role in these elections: as a campaign issue and as a key electoral bloc that could decide the vote in swing states like Florida and Nevada. Noticias Telemundo will be bringing viewers unprecedented coverage of an event that could have a huge impact on our community over the next four years.”
The technology for the program will include Microsoft Pulse, an innovative tool that allows viewers to express and share their opinions about the candidates’ statements on Telemundo screens in real time using their mobile devices. Microsoft Pulse makes it possible to determine the level of acceptance of the candidates’ messages and audience reaction to the debate in general. Viewers interested in participating are invited to visit the Microsoft Pulse website on their computers and mobile devices.
In close collaboration with NBC News, the country’s number one news organisation, Noticias Telemundo will produce more than 275 hours of political coverage throughout the campaign, an unprecedented figure in the network’s history. #DECISION 2016 will also deploy a solid digital platform to reach young voters and offer a series of initiatives in partnership with Columbia University School of Journalism. Emmy Award-winning Noticiero Telemundo anchors María Celeste Arrarás and José Díaz-Balart will lead the #DECISION2016 coverage, in collaboration with more than 15 correspondents charged with following the presidential race across the country. Telemundo is the only Spanish-language network in the United States to present an official Republican debate as well as forums with the leading Democratic candidates in the 2016 electoral cycle.
