Singapore – Serving as an executive producer, Sarah Jessica Parker (Emmy and Golden Globe winner for HBO’s Sex and the City) stars as Frances in the comedy series Divorce, and Thomas Haden Church (Oscar nominee for Sideways) stars as Robert, Frances’ husband, who is struggling to cope with their marriage falling apart.
The show follows Frances and Robert as they grapple with the fallout from their failing marriage, not just for themselves, but also for their children and friends, ranging from awkward public encounters to difficult private therapy sessions. Set in Westchester County, NY, Divorce is created by Sharon Horgan (Catastrophe), with Paul Simms (HBO’s Girls) serving as a show runner on the series.
Divorce also stars Molly Shannon (Emmy nominee for HBO’s Enlightened and Saturday Night Live) as Diane, Frances’ high-strung friend, who has a successful husband, a beautiful house and no children; Talia Balsam (Mad Men) as Dallas, Frances’ close friend, who has been both widowed and divorced; Tracy Letts (Homeland) as Nick, Diane’s husband; Sterling Jerins (World War Z) as Lila, Frances’ and Robert’s daughter; and Charlie Kilgore (Moonrise Kingdom) as Tom, their son.
A brand-new HBO comedy series Insecure, about two best friends who must deal with their own real-life flaws as they attempt to navigate different worlds and cope with an endless series of uncomfortable everyday experiences. Insecure will also be available on HBO On Demand and HBO GO. Created by Issa Rae and Larry Wilmore, the eight-episode season explores the African American female experience in an un-clichéd and authentic way.
Rae stars as Issa and Yvonne Orji as Molly on the show. Modern-day African-American women are usually portrayed as strong, confident and “flawless.” But Issa and Molly are definitely not “killing it.” Over the course of the season, Issa attempts to figure out what she wants out of life and how to take control of it, while fumbling her way through this journey. Molly, a corporate attorney who appears to have everything together professionally, struggles inside as she looks for external ways to fix her life.
