Korea – Docs Port Incheon 2016 (‘DPI2016’) which provides substantial business opportunities through meetings between documentary filmmakers and the experts in various fields in documentary, film and broadcasting industry has been announced 24 final projects to participate the pitching event at Paradise Hotel Incheon.
DPI2016 accepted documentary projects on every stage from planning to post-production in August in consequence, a total of 131 Asian documentary projects were received from 21 different countries. Through a strictly impartial judging process, 9 Korean documentary projects, 10 Asian documentary projects and 5 Rough Cut Sales projects were selected for the final.
In Korean Project Pitching (K-Pitch) aims for Korean theatrical distribution and TV releasing, 9 projects with range of issues and their own styles have been finally selected among the 47 entries. 58 Asian projects from 20 countries were competing for Asian Documentary Pitching (A-Pitch) aims for International market industry. A total of 10 Asian projects will be shown at the DPI2016. All projects come across from China, Vietnam Philippines, India, Myanmar, and Cambodia. In the Rough Cut Sales section targeting the post production project never released or broadcasted before, 5 final projects will be presented out of 26 entries.
The final 9 Korean projects out of 25 will be developed through the ‘Docs Lab’, the intensive mentoring program with the best domestic documentary specialists, 10 Asian Projects will be presented after training procedure with the experts as well. 5 projects in the Rough Cut Sales will be shown their rough cut or completed work to domestic and international industry people during the market both on- and off-line. The final 24 projects revealed through DPI2016 will be expected to have various business opportunities for its awards, investments, in kinds support.
