Los Angeles, CA — Multimedia entertainment studio Electus, an operating business of IAC [NASDAQ: IAC], announced that Electus International has partnered with Critical Content for global distribution of the true crime series The Case Of: JonBenét Ramsey, and will distribute the series in conjunction with Critical Content. Additionally, a deal has been secured with Global Television in Canada for the simulcast rights to The Case Of: JonBenét Ramsey, which premieres in the U.S. on CBS on September 18. Electus International will be bringing the Critical Content-produced series to MIPCOM this October.
The Case Of: JonBenét Ramsey is a six-hour limited event docu-series that reexamines the unsolved mystery of JonBenet Ramsey’s murder, 20 years after the six-year-old beauty queen’s tragic death. The Case Of: JonBenét Ramsey reunites the original investigators in the case with new experts, and together, they take a hard look at the case that captivated the world. Emmy winner Tom Forman (48 Hours, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition) and Critical Content produced the highly anticipated series.
Ramsey was found slain in the basement of her Colorado home in 1996, hours after she was reported missing. Officials, and public opinion, initially suspected her parents and older brother of the crime; the family was partially exonerated in 2003 and completely cleared of any wrongdoing in 2008. The case was reopened in 2009, but remains unsolved to this day.
