New York – The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences today announced the nominees for the 2016 News & Current Affairs categories. Winners will be announced in New York on September 21, at a Ceremony at Rose Hall, at Lincoln Center. The International Emmy winners will be recognised alongside their American news and documentary peers.
The 8 nominees span 6 countries on 3 continents. The countries are Brazil, Germany, Malaysia, Qatar, Russia and the United Kingdom. Al Jazeera English and TV Globo are nominated in both categories this year.
“In this volatile world where anybody can comment on serious world events on social media platforms, true journalistic voices and investigations are more crucial than ever.” said Bruce L.
