Dr. Wendy Darke, former Head of the BBC Natural History Unit, announced the launch of True to Nature, a Bristol-based independent production company, specialising in the development and production of innovative natural history content for global broadcasters and platforms. Over a 25 year career, Wendy Darke has been responsible for some 1000 programmes spanning both specialist factual and children’s genres.

As head of the BBC NHU, she was responsible for editorial governance for all output and the delivery of around 600 hours of ground-breaking natural history content, including some of the world’s most watched and awarded series. True to Nature aims to deliver ground breaking new formats utilising the most innovative production techniques.
