In Screen Australia CEO Graeme Mason’s speech at the Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC), Mason commented that changes in the sector particularly around audience behaviour, the rise of VOD and the digital space, and the need for alternative and innovative financing models are already here. Mason highlighted that the challenge now is to adapt in order to survive.
Mason also announced a new collaboration with NITV/SBS on a slate of documentaries with tremendous cultural value: A Moment in History. He also highlighted recent achievements of the social impact documentary genre with support from platforms including GOOD PITCH Australia.
