London– FremantleMedia International (FMI) has completed a global distribution deal (excluding North America and UK) with Arrow Media, one of the UK’s top independent creative forces, for its brand new documentary series Hitler: The Biography(w/t). Chronicling Hitler from childhood to his downfall, the six part series features newly unearthed archive materials, declassified documents, and new CGI techniques to reveal the full and powerful story of the man – Adolf Hitler. The series has been commissioned by the Discovery Communications owned American Heroes Channel in North America and a UK broadcaster.
The in-depth series will feature new archive, photography and extensively colorized footage from Hitler’s life, revealing his most private moments and the real man behind the monster. It will too use never before seen interviews with people that provide an extraordinary insight into the true character, behaviour, habits and beliefs of Germany’s Führer.
Angela Neillis, Director of Non Scripted, UK, EMEA and Asia Pacific, FMI, said: “What initially attracted us to the project was Arrow Media’s unrivalled approach to recounting Hitler’s life and the new storytelling techniques used across the series to show the evolution of man to monster. Hitler was one of the most vilified and also fascinating figures of the 20th century and this new material helps to offer some further insights into the man and the circumstances that led to one of the deadliest conflicts in human history.”
John Smithson, Joint Creative Director, Arrow Media said: “The life of Hitler may feel like familiar territory, but it’s not. By taking six hours to go into forensic detail on every aspect of his character, his development, his relationships, his successes, his failures and his eventual downfall, we will reveal a totally new picture, telling the story in a fresh way for a new generation of viewers.”
