Hong Kong – Lagardère Active and Lightning International have announced a new agreement that sees the premier classical music, jazz and dance channel, Mezzo Live HD, launch on SKYCable and Destiny Cable in the Philippines.
Mezzo Live HD becomes available 24/7 to subscribers of the cable network and its affiliate. This marks the first agreement for the channel in the Philippines and a major step in the channel’s development in South-East Asia.
Jean-René Aucouturier, SVP, Business Development, Lagardère Active TV, said: “We are thrilled to bring Mezzo Live HD to another major pay-tv provider in Asia. We are confident that the great value of our premium music content will contribute to drive growth for SKYCable’s HD packages and reinforce their position as a market leader in the Philippines.”
James Dumlao, Head of Programming and Packaging, SKYCable, commented: “SKYcable is committed to providing the best-in-class TV experience to its subscribers, and we are delighted to be the first operator to launch Mezzo Live HD in the Philippines and proud to be adding another premium HD channel to our ever-growing line-up.”
James Ross, CEO of Lightning International, the Asia-Pacific representative for Mezzo Live HD added “We have had a fantastic response to the rollout of Mezzo Live HD in the region from our partners and operators, and we welcome SkyCable as the latest – and the first to offer Mezzo Live HD in the Philippines!”
Now available in 5 major Asian markets, Mezzo Live HD features the best classical and jazz concerts, with 100% of content in HD and over 80% of it self-produced, from prestigious international venues like Paris Opera, London’s Covent Garden, Milan’s Scala or Moscow’s Bolshoi.
Mezzo Live HD will be ramping up its efforts to showcase more localised content in 2015 with new partnerships in the works in Australia, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
During August, on Mezzo Live HD world famous pianist Lang Lang plays a fantastic concert with the Orchestre de Paris, and we feature amazing choreography in “Baroque Ballet” from the Château de Versailles in France.
