Galaxy Pop signs with Gotham
The Melbourne based kids, teen and young-adult focused prod co, helmed by writing, producing, directing team Gian Christian and Dina McPherson, has sold content to over 120 territories worldwide.
“With the success of our content driving our growth internationally, we’re now focusing strategically on creating targeted content for the North American market,” said Galaxy Pop’s CEO and Co-Founder Gian Christian.
CCO and Co-Founder Dina McPherson added, “We already have multiple projects underway for this initiative, so the move is really one of natural progression particularly after signing with Gotham.”
Galaxy Pop’s latest series Get Ace, with Christian and McPherson as showrunners, has been a ratings winner in many territories and continues to rack up strong sales throughout the world with a second season starting production later this year. Also slated for production is teen comedy feature New Cupid. With a screenplay by McPherson and produced by Christian, the film is scheduled to shoot on the Northern Eastern coast of Australia late 2016.
“Galaxy Pop is one of the most creative and successful kids content producers in Australia,” said Julie Kane-Ritsch, Head of the Animation and Family Entertainment Division at The Gotham Group. “We’re thrilled to represent them and know that their fresh sensibility, highly creative talent and well produced shows will find great success here in the U.S.”
