As of 15 June, Uruguayans will follow the noir drama The Party, one of Globo’s highlights for Natpe Europe 2015. In the miniseries, a body is found in a pool during a sophisticated party, and the celebration atmosphere gives way to a crime scene where everyone is a suspect. Filled with suspense, tension, and extreme emotions, the super-production will air on Teledoce. Teledoce has been Globo’s partner for years and has broadcast major hits, such as Irrational Heart, Brazil Avenue, and Trail of Lies, among others.
The Party revolves around a lavish party held at the mansion of businesswoman Angela Mahler (Patricia Pillar, The Favorite) to celebrate a project from the company she owns in partnership with Carlos Braga (Tony Ramos, Passione). High society, businessmen, powerful women, and hedonists gather for a good time. But a body is found in the pool and a frantic hunt for the killer begins. The party turns into a mysterious crime scene. Trapped inside the house and in the cross-hairs of the investigators, all guests are suspects, until proven otherwise.
The miniseries is a remake of Globo’s successful 1974 telenovela, featuring an innovative narrative: the whole story takes place in 24 hours, in a plot filled with suspense, ambition, ulterior motives, and wild passions.
Broadcast in the 11pm time slot in Brazil, The Party was viewed by 24 million people (source: Ibope). The miniseries got more than one million mentions on social networks during the last month of its broadcast. The plot was also brought to Portuguese screens, by SIC, and ranked among the most watched programs in the country (source: GFK). The miniseries has also been licensed to Korean group EPG.
