Hong Kong – Imagine Communications announced it has implemented new playout automation, content management, and signal processing and distribution solutions at Workpoint Entertainment in Bangkok, Thailand. With the advanced features, stability and reliability provided by Imagine Communications’ playout portfolio, Workpoint Entertainment has now risen to be one of the top three digital channels in Thailand.
The system was designed, implemented and installed by Imagine Communications distributor B.E.C. Co. Ltd. and local systems integrator Advanced Broadcast Corporation. Replacing a third-party channel-in-a-box system, the new installation features an Imagine Communications ADC™ automated content management and distribution system, including the List Redundancy Control Client (LRCC) software designed for added reliability and non-stop performance.
Reliability is further enhanced with the Nexio® Motion™ software running on the Imagine Communications Nexio playout server. Nexio Motion creates automated processes to move and manage media, ensuring that missing media is added in plenty of time, restoring from the archive if necessary. The Nexio Farad™ scalable, high-performance online storage server network is configured for Raid 601 with Intrinsic Mirroring. The result is a helps improve reliability over the previous playout system, contributing to increases in audience satisfaction.
Imagine Communications has also supplied a new core infrastructure as part of the Workpoint layout upgrade. This includes a Nexio IconMaster™ branding and master control switcher linked to a Panacea™ small-scale router and Platinum with integrated Predator II GX multiviewer. The system also includes Selenio 6800+, X50 and X85 signal processing including loudness control.
“Our previous playout system often suffered from on-air disturbances,” said Mr. Sudthipoj Sriphen, chief editor, Workpoint Entertainment. “That is never good for maintaining audience loyalty. We knew we needed to move to a top quality automation system. We have a long-standing relationship with Advanced Broadcast Corporation and B.C.E. Co. Ltd., and they had no hesitation in recommending a complete package from Imagine Communications. They were right and we now have a system we can rely on.”
“We understand that playout is mission critical for any broadcaster,” said Joe Khodeir, senior vice president, Asia Pacific. “Our ADC playout automation technology has been proven over many years and across many continents to be of the most robust and reliable solutions available. We are delighted to be able to seamlessly integrate this solution into their facility and bring this level of stability to Workpoint.”
