Singapore – Hannibal Lecter is back. And the world’s most notorious cannibalistic serial killer is on the run. Fans of the AXN original series Hannibal – affectionately known as ‘Fannibals’ – will enjoy the thrill of the chase starting with the first episode simulcast on AXN websites around the world as season three premieres in the U.S.
Across Asia, the premiere episode will stream on the AXN Asia website on 5 June at 1pm Singapore time, nine hours ahead of AXN’s Hannibal Season 3 broadcast premiere at 9.45pm (SG) /10pm (MY, HK) /9pm (BKK, WIB) on the same night. Subsequent episodes will continue to premiere in its regular timeslot every Friday on AXN, within 12 hours of the U.S. telecast.
Making the global online simulcast especially thrilling this Friday will be Hannibal series creator and executive producer Bryan Fuller, and executive producer Martha DeLaurentiis who will live-tweet during the simulcast. ‘Fannibals’ can hashtag their Twitter posts with #AXNHannibal and viewers can include the @AXNAsia handle for their chance to chat and converse with the creative force behind Hannibal on Twitter.
In Malaysia, AXN has teamed up with Astro to offer on-demand viewing of the new season, including catch up for Hannibal seasons one and two via the Astro-On-The-Go app.
In the Philippines, AXN and SkyCable are also partnering to offer subscribers the opportunity for online catch-up viewing of Hannibal Season 3.
This AXN world-first will also be marked by exclusive lunch screening events in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur where invited guests will enjoy “lunch with Hannibal” while watching the first episode simulcast at the same time of the U.S. premiere, also on 5 June.
Based on the novel Red Dragon by Thomas Harris, the dark and haunting series Hannibal returns for a third season to reveal the fates of characters hanging in the balance and the continuing psychological cat and mouse games they face.
It’s one year on after the shocking events of the season two finale, Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) is on the run in Europe – accompanied by his psychiatrist Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson) – sporting a new identity, but servicing the same insatiable appetite. The new season promises to be the best dressed show on TV as the action in Hannibal shifts to the classic European backdrop.
As the lives of Will Graham (Hugh Dancy), Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne), and Alana Bloom (Caroline Dhavernas) converge toward Hannibal again, each with their own motivations to catch him once and for all, their deadly dance turns in startling and unexpected ways. With Will and the FBI in pursuit, and without a home base, Hannibal is more vulnerable. His past is catching up with him and he knows it.
In the second half of the season, Jack implores Will to help him catch a new threat, a serial killer preying on families, known in the press as the Tooth Fairy, but self-proclaimed as The Great Red Dragon. The hunt may force Will to turn to an unwelcome source of insight – his old adversary, Hannibal.
