Singapore – Asia’s largest independent TV production company Beach House Pictures (BHP) is adding to its experienced in-house team with four new international hires and expansion across its post-production division ahead of a number of new greenlit series.
New Head of Production Tim Franklin joins BHP from the UK. Franklin has more than 30 years experience in content production as a Senior Production Manager, Director and Line Producer across a variety of different genres. His career began at BBC Scotland, where Franklin was Production Manager on the BAFTA award winning series Rab C Nesbitt. More recent credits include Geordie Shore (MTV), Teacup Travels (Cbeebies),) and reality series Power Struggle (Al Jazeera). As Head of Production, Tim is responsible for overseeing the production management team and the smooth day-to-day running of all on-going projects across the company’s four divisions.
Joining Franklin is fellow-Briton, Justina Wright who comes on board as Senior Production Manager. Wright has worked on some of the UK’s biggest shows and managed productions across the U.S, Europe, Africa and Asia. Before joining BHP, Wright was Senior Production Producer and Talent Manager with DStv in South Africa. Her other credits include Gordon Ramsey’s The F Word and A Place in the Sun for C4 and was Consulting Head of Production for OHTV.
BHP has also added two senior producers to its creative and development team. With a television career spanning more than 20 years, Series Producer Chiara Bellati has made shows for television’s leading networks, including the BBC, Discovery, and National Geographic. Chiara’s programmes have ranged from award winning blue-chip natural history shows to heart-wrenching social documentaries, including South Pacific (Emmy) and the Bafta award-winning Coast. As BHP’s Natural History/Specialist Factual Series Producer, Bellati is overseeing BHP’s latest wildlife productions and developing new content, particularly for the UK and International markets.
Fellow Series Producer, Caroline Allward has worked on highly rated series for the BBC, Sky, C4 and Discovery (US). Before arriving in Singapore, the multi-award winning producer was in Thailand, completing season 3 of hit series Ladyboys (Sky Living) and Bangkok Embassy for Australia’s Channel 9. Other credits include Sky’s My Gay Husband and Time Team for C4.
With a penchant for Ob-Doc and Factual Entertainment, Allward is overseeing a new original series on Singapore’s Changi Airport, slated to air in 2016.
BHP has also promoted Senior Production Manager Tay Sook Hoon to Head of Post Production. With more than 10 years of experience as an editor and production manager, Tay has swiftly risen through BHP’s ranks. Her international TV credits include managing over 60 hours of programing for preschool channel ZooMoo, top-rating Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 3 (StarWorld), Kids vs Film (Discovery Kids), Birth Days (Discovery Channel), Restaurant Bobby Chinn (TLC) and Junkie Monastery (BIO), which won Best Lifestyle and Information Programme at the 2012 Rockie Awards, Banff World Media Festival. As new Head of Post, Tay is in-charge of operations at BHP’s post facilities as well as leading the growing postproduction team.
