Toronto, Canada − Corus Entertainment and Kin Community announced that W Network’s Maripier Morin (Hockey Wives) and Cheryl Torrenueva (Game of Homes) have signed on in partnership with Kin Canada to strategise the launch of their YouTube channels, Simply Cher Cher and Pardon My French, marking the first time Corus talent has been signed to Kin Community. Maripier and Cheryl each have a strong social media following across Twitter and Instagram in addition to their large fan base from their popular series on W Network.
“We are thrilled to not only have a business partnership with Corus Entertainment but to have the opportunity to develop their talent’s digital strategies,” said Kin Community’s CEO Michael Wayne. “Both Maripier and Cheryl are exceptional talent and leaders in women’s lifestyle and we are excited to see their television audiences follow them to their social media platforms.”
“Maripier and Cheryl have broken out on social media as unique voices whose popularity extends beyond our hit series Hockey Wives and Game of Homes. Joining Kin, the number one video network in women’s lifestyle, will allow them to reach even more fans with their takes on fashion and design, placing their own unique spin on the subjects which have made them so popular among fans of the series,” said John MacDonald, Vice President, Television, Head of Women and Family, Corus Entertainment.
As the breakout star of W Network’s hit series, Hockey Wives, Maripier has proven herself to be far more than simply the right hand partner for Habs’ Left Winger, Brandon Prust. A Revlon model, popular host and successful entrepreneur, Maripier has become a style icon who defines modern glamour for television and magazines. Her YouTube channel will reflect her life – a light-hearted and beautiful take on the fashion and style hacks that get her through the day as one of Montreal’s most sought after stars.
Maripier’s fashion-centric channel, Pardon My French, will be a fun and relatable Women’s Guide to It Girl Style where Maripier will share her city, her sensibility and her killer closet with her fast-growing legion of fans. Weekly videos will cover everything from interviews with Montreal’s biggest designers, to how to pass off bargain basement for Haute Couture — all done with Maripier’s sparkling charm and humour. Pardon My French is made in partnership with Bristow Global Media Inc. (BGM).
Top designer on Food Network’s Restaurant Impossible and a recent judge on W Network’s Game of Homes, Cheryl Torrenueva, will also launch her YouTube channel with Kin. Simply Cher Cher will take viewers behind the scenes into her life, inspiring them to modify their hectic lifestyle, and allowing them to spend less time stressing and more time smiling. Cheryl will take the guesswork out of life and will share her easy design, health and beauty tips to help viewers save time, live with purpose and have fun along the way.
