Cannes – In conjunction with MIP Digital Fronts in Cannes, WebTVAsia has reached an agreement on a multi-year partnership with global video platform Dailymotion to collaborate on a 100-channel roll-out as well as exclusive co-production for the Asian market.
Marc Eychenne, Vice President of Content at Dailymotion, expressed delight at the partnership. “We are extremely proud to be associated with WebTVAsia, the most prominent MCN and digital studio spanning Asia-wide market particularly China and South East Asia. We look forward to working very closely together to set a major footprint in Asia.”
Group CEO of WebTVAsia, Fred Chong also conveyed a very optimistic outlook with this collaboration with Dailymotion by saying, “Dailymotion is the leading video platform globally and WebTVAsia is privileged to work with our first of many European partners to penetrate the exciting Asian market.”
Dailymotion, being the most successful video platform in Europe with its highly popular online content will now have a proven partner in Asia, WebTVAsia to expand its reach in Asia.
WebTVAsia showed its mantle with China’s number one song Little Apple that became a global 200 million-view viral sensation, with WebTVAsia producing 4 original music videos for the Korean, Taiwanese, Thai and Malaysian territories. It also took China’s biggest comedy web series The Unexpected, from zero to 130,000 subscribers on YouTube within 6 months. Its YouTube MCN platform is averaging 150 million views monthly, from over 3 million subscribers.
