Singapore − The online video platform for Asian short films Viddsee.com announced an exciting partnership with Nikon to recognise and reward selected filmmakers every month for the next 12 months based on the platform’s “Viddsee Shortee” films.
Viddsee is a hybrid video platform that has shaped entertainment in the digital media space, reaching over 1 million active users with on its website, on the mobile web and through the iOS Viddsee App.
Every month, the top watched and shared “Viddsee Shortee” film over 30 days is selected and celebrated by the site. Since the initiative began in October 2014, top talents from Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Korea have been featured.
“At Nikon, we’re delighted to work with Viddsee to inspire the development of unique Asian content. We support creativity and recognise the growing trend towards short movies. The Nikon D7200 is Nikon’s newest DSLR and has improved video capabilities, making it more adept at capturing high quality videos,” said Jonathan Ang, Deputy General Manager, Nikon Singapore. “We are confident that this partnership will further develop a dynamic and creative pool of talents, and we hope to encourage more individuals to embrace videography.”
As part of the partnership with Nikon, each monthly Viddsee Shortee winner will receive a Nikon D7200 kit, the latest and most advanced DSLR in Nikon’s DX range worth more than S$1700, starting May 2015 to April 2016.
“We want to support Asian content creators who create quality cinematic stories for the Internet. We hope to encourage and spur further growth with this Viddsee Shortee initiative, together with our official camera partner, Nikon,” said Ho Jia Jian, co-founder, Viddsee.
These Viddsee Shortees are diverse in its genres, treatment and storytelling: psychological thriller, heartwarming family dramas, a coming of age story, a zombie apocalypse, horror and action flicks. They’re included in a special Viddsee Shortee channel.
The first Viddsee Shortee winner to receive a Nikon D7200 kit will be announced on 1 May.
