Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia’s leading licensing and publishing agency, Kota Buku will be organising the 6th Kuala Lumpur Trade and Copyright Centre (KLTCC) from 19 to 21 April.
The 3-day trade extravaganza held at Seri Pacific Hotel, Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) aims to enrich the ASEAN licensing and publishing industry through digital convergence of intellectual properties (IPs). KLTCC will be the meeting place for various publishers, licensors, buyers and those who are looking for opportunities to develop their content to other media. Since its establishment in
2009, KLTCC started as a local platform which later expanded and succeeded in gaining participation from partners all over South East Asia and the global market, where both buyers and sellers were successful in intellectual property (IP) trade including copyright and digital rights.
Consistent with Kota Buku’s objectives, KLTCC is a brilliant platform, which helps and promotes the digital and ‘future book’ trade to thrive and develop. Kota Buku is poised to follow latest trends and developments in the digital world – which generate new marketing medium in the e-space. Thus, Kota Buku is positioned to serve as a channel that promotes copyrights and digital rights as a key foundation to other potential businesses within the media entertainment ecosystem, such as feature films, TV drama series, animation series, games and even licensing & merchandising. KLTCC, as the largest copyrights trade show in South East Asia, Malaysia’s social position and multi-cultural diversity will open a vast market potential for the book industry players to meet, gather and trade, encouraging diversity in the usage and demand of contents.
As the Chief Executive Officer of Kota Buku, Sayed Munawar Sayed Mohd Mustar reiterated, “The effort to position Malaysia as the premier marketing hub for publishing and creative content in the region is a manifestation of the Government’s desire to develop the publishing & digital media industry as a means of generating employment opportunities for the people in addition to promoting IPs and wealth creation.”
In addition to the international market, KLTCC’s highlights will include Business Matching Program, networking reception and conferences. More than 100 prominent regional and international buyers are expected to attend this year’s KLTCC, including international juries, speakers and moderators to initiate and support new business opportunities and the exchange of shared knowledge. Participants are set to gain valuable trade contacts and networking partners as there will be lots of opportunities for content creators, publishers, producers, translators and solution providers to share and showcase their products to industry players in the Asian market.
