Munich – AXN, the Action & Entertainment channel by Sony Pictures Television Networks, will broadcast the crime drama series Power from Starz Worldwide Distribution, the global television licensing and content syndication arm of Starz, as a German TV premiere on 20 July. With the series AXN gets even more “Bad Boy Power.”  Omari Hardwick (The A-Team, Kick-Ass) plays the role of a night club owner and powerful drug lord, James “Ghost” St. Patrick, who lives between two contrary worlds – torn between good and evil.

Produced by rapper Curtis Jackson “50 Cent” and Courtney Kemp Agboh (Hawaii Five-O, The Good Wife), the series is set in the stylish nightclub world of New York City, where House and Electro beats, laid back Hip Hop and hot R&B drive the urban lifestyle. But next to the sexy world of parties in uptown Manhattan exists the dark and brutal underworld. James “Ghost” St. Patrick founded the club in order to wash the money he earns as a tough boss of a lucrative drug empire. Unscrupulousness and violence are in control of the world that have made “Ghost” rich and enable himself and his family a luxurious life. As a kid from the ghetto he grew up drug dealing. Torn between good and evil he dreams of turning the exclusive club into one of the most successful U.S. businesses, without the help of drug money. Has he got the “Power” to say goodbye to the brutal business of drug dealing?

David Knoller, Mark Canton, and Randall Emmett also serve as Executive Producers on the series.

Bettina Hermann, Networks Territory Director of Sony Pictures Television Deutschland quotes, “Spellbinding bad boys with a brutal streak, a distinctive look and a healthy dose of sex appeal − Power is the ideal fit for AXN. Power is one of the most talked about new U.S. Pay-TV series and we’re bringing it to our viewers first. It complements our line-up perfectly and will also appeal to the younger end of our target audience.”
