Mumbai − Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) announced the resignation of Arun Kapoor, CEO, Taj TV-Distribution Business, who has decided to move on to pursue his alternate career interests outside the group and the elevation of Rajesh Sethi to CEO-Taj TV Ltd. Presently, the Global CEO of Ten Sports, Mr. Sethi will be taking charge of Taj TV Ltd, overlooking the Sports and Distribution Business w.e.f 1 May. He will continue to report to ZEEL MD & CEO, Punit Goenka. Meanwhile, Mr. Kapoor will continue to be a part of the group and will help in streamlining and handholding Mr. Sethi in the transition over the next couple of months.
Commenting on the developments, Mr. Punit Goenka, ZEEL MD & CEO said, “Arun was instrumental in setting up the team at Taj TV. He was also a part of the leadership team of the initial JV which established the distribution business & harnessed available opportunities for the organization. We wish to thank Arun for the years of engagement with us and for contributing to the success of the organization; we wish him the best.”
On Mr. Sethi’s elevation, Mr. Goenka said, “In the last 18 months, Rajesh has been a catalyst in turning around Ten Sports with a strong focus on processes, people and delivering a strong sustainable financial performance. I am confident that Rajesh’s rich experience and knowledge across multiple domains will help us to take Taj TV to the next phase of growth. We wish Rajesh and the entire distribution team the very best for continued success.”
Speaking on his tenure at Taj TV, Mr. Arun Kapoor said, “It was one of my most satisfying stints at ZEE. Under the leadership and guidance of Chairman and Punit, we have managed to establish Taj TV as one of the leading players today. I thank them for the opportunity and wish Rajesh and his team all the success.”

Mr. Rajesh Sethi has over 22 years of experience in varied industries like Media, Insurance and Automotive from across India and South East Asia. Before joining ZEEL, Rajesh was associated with big conglomerates like Tata, General Electric and Allianz with a proven track record of progressive leadership and entrepreneurial success. He is an accomplished entrepreneurial leader with a reputation for value creation and growth.
A Mechanical Engineer, Rajesh has received his Executive Education from Harvard Business School, Kellogg School of Management & INSEAD. He has also earned his PGDM in Sales & Marketing and has completed his Professional Diploma in International Business. Rajesh is also a GE certified Quality Green Belt. Rajesh has been conferred with prestigious awards of “Rashtriya Udyog Ratna” by N.E.H.R.D.O. and “Global Indian Achievers Award for Business Excellence 2012” by Economic Development Forum.
