Los Angeles, CA − MarVista Entertainment (MVE) has finalised a roster of deals with key media partners across Asia for a slate of new movies that originally debuted at MIPCOM last year.

FOX Asia has acquired pan-Asian cable and satellite rights to the thriller 10.0 Earthquake, starring Henry Ian Cusick (Lost, Scandal), the teen comedy All She Wishes, starring Austin & Ally’s Calum Worthy, and the family movie From the Rough, starring Academy-Award Nominee Taraji P. Henson who portrays the first African-American woman to coach an all-men’s team at the collegiate level.
NBC Asia has acquired pan-Asian cable and satellite rights to ten titles, including the romantic comedies When Sparks Fly, starringMeghan Markle (Suits) and Christopher Jacot (Beyblade, Eureka),and My Boyfriends’ Dogs starring Erika Christensen (Parenthood, Six Degrees, Swimfan) both of which premiered in the U.S. in fall 2014 on Hallmark Channel, and also the romantic comedy Mothers of the Bride, starring Gail O’Grady (Revenge, Boston Legal, American Dreams, NYPD Blue). Holiday themed acquisitions include The Nine Lives of Christmas, starring Brandon Routh (Superman Returns), which made its Hallmark Channel Original Movie World Premiere Holiday 2014, and Christmas Mix, starring Haylie Duff (Napoleon Dynamite, A Fairytale Christmas) and Tilky Jones (Nashville, One Tree Hill). The deal also includes the thrillerNanny Cam, starring Laura Allen (All My Children, Awake, Ravenswood) and Cam Gigandet (The Twilight Saga, Easy A, Reckless).
Mediaquest in the Philippines has acquired over 50 hours of content for its free to air channel TV5, including the disaster movie 10,000 Days, starring John Schneider (Smallville, The Dukes of Hazzard) and Riley Smith (90210) facing an Ice Age 10,000 days in the future,and the holiday movie 12 Dog Days Till Christmas, starringReginald VelJohnson (Hart of Dixie, Family Matters, Die Hard)and Vincent Giovagnoli (3 Times a Charm, 1 Chance 2 Dance)about a troubled teen who discovers romance, family, and responsibility when forced to do probationary work at a dog shelter. The movie premiered in the U.S. on UPtv in November 2014.
Robby Amar, Executive Director of Distribution, will be presenting the MarVista slate at the Hong Kong Filmart later this month, which will include a total of 21 new movie titles and children’s animated programming including the boys action adventureHeroes: Legend of the Battle Disks (26 x 30’), directed by Masahiro Hosoda (Dragonball Z The Movie, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh) and written by Junki Takegami (Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh, Power Rangers) with character designs by Yoshihiro Nagamori (Bakugan, Yu-Gi-Oh, Beyblade), and NFL Rush Zone: Season of the Guardians (44 X 30’) which aired on Nicktoons in the U.S. andintroduces viewers to a young football fan who is given superpowers to protect shards of a power source called The Core.
