France’s M6 have commissioned Armoza Format’s daily stripped hairstyling competition The Final Cut Down. The show will be produced by Banijay France and is set to air during the daytime slot from 6 April. Locally known as 5 Salons Qui Décoiffent, it will follow five hairdressers competing to be crowned the hairdresser of the week and to win €1,000.
The show, originally aired in the Czech Republic, has also aired a season of over 130 episodes on Turkey’s Star TV, which extended their initial 30 episode season after strong viewership.
Star TV has in the past aired several of Armoza’s formats including studio game show The Common Denominator, investigative drama The Naked Truth and international hit game show Still Standing, while Armoza have also worked with M6 on the prime time show With this Ring.
In The Final Cut-Down (30′) each week 5 hairdressers will compete to give one lucky passer-by a completely new look in just 3 hours! In every episode, one hairdresser works to transform one lucky passer-by, chosen by their rivals. They will then be scored by their competitors, with the week’s highest scorer winning the title of Best Hairdresser and a cash prize. Each week the show travels to a different city and highlight the salons in the area. Over 80 episodes have already aired on TV Barrandov, Czech Republic, doubling the timeslot’s ratings and increasing share by 50%.
Avi Armoza, CEO of Armoza Format said, “We brought The Final Cut Down to the market to answer the need for daily stripped formats, and we see this show as a colorful and fun solution that also focuses on the important day-time female target audience. We’re looking forward to seeing the French adaptation and to continuing to work with M6.”
