Leon Lai returns as Entertainment Expo Ambassador

March 2, 2015 by TVA Editor

Celebrity Leon Lai returns as Ambassador for the Entertainment Expo to be held in Hong Kong from 23 March to 19 April. Lai, a stalwart of the entertainment industry, has worked with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) on a photo shoot and a new video which is being screened in about 50 cinemas across Hong Kong to promote the upcoming expo.

The HKTDC invited renowned photographer Cheung Man-wah to shoot the promotional photo series, while Lai directed the video himself with Cheung serving as director of photography. The video uses the “Translucent Splash” concept, creating a colourful background to echo the message that the Entertainment Expo aims to delight spectators with a rich and diverse programme of activities.

“I’m happy to serve as Entertainment Ambassador again,” Lai said. “The Entertainment Expo is a grand annual event with lots of fabulous activities open to the public. As a member of Hong Kong’s entertainment industry, I welcome everyone’s enthusiastic support.”

The fashionable outfits modelled by Lai in the video come from the 2015 spring collections of top international brands including Bally, Calvin Klein, Gieves and Hawkes and The Swank. The video also introduces activities of the 10 events of the expo.

The 11th edition of Entertainment Expo adopts the theme of “Get into the Scene”. Among the 10 events featured in the video, three are founding events of the expo: the Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART), the Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) and the Hong Kong Film Awards (HKFA). There are also six core events: the Hong Kong–Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF), the Hong Kong Asian-Pop Music Festival (HKAMF), the IFPI Hong Kong Top Sales Music Award, ifva (Incubator for Film & Visual Media in Asia Festival), the Asian VFX and Digital Cinema Summit, the Digital Entertainment Summit as well as the affiliated event TV World International Forum.

To attract more public participation, the expo will partner with local cinemas, retailers and the food and beverage industry to launch various promotions under the theme: “Enjoy Great Movies, Enjoy Special Offers”.
