Burbank – FremantleMedia International (FMI) announced their portfolio of recent sales for over 200 hours of premium programming across numerous genres that will bring world class entertainment throughout the Latin America region.
“FremantleMedia International’s presence across Latin America is stronger than ever,” said Sheila Aguirre, Executive Vice President, Content Distribution and Format Sales, Latin America, Caribbean and Hispanic USA, FremantleMedia International. “Given the breadth of our portfolio, our relationship with Latin American broadcasters remains extensive, and we’re excited to open NATPE with a host of new program and format sales,” she continued.
FMI’s entertainment programming throughout the region has continued to flourish, with Sony Pictures Television Network taking the upcoming milestone Season 10 of America’s Got Talent (43 hours). America’s Got Talent is produced by FremantleMedia North America and Syco Entertainment. The Emmy-nominated reality competition series, Project Runway (14 x 60’; and 1 x 60’ special), will have another strut down the catwalk with Turner picking up Season 11. And also turning fashion into a prestigious competition is The Fashion Fund (6 x 60’), with Globosat in Brazil taking the high stakes docu-series.
Globosat is also on board to explore general stupidity from around the world with the Mr. T hosted comedy, World’s Craziest Fools Series 1 (20 x 30’). Bringing even further laughs to the region will be Turner, who will air the latest season of the therapeutic comedy starring Lisa Kudrow, Web Therapy (12 x 30’).
Latin America will also be cooking up some tasty lifestyle programming with Globosat in Brazil taking a full menu of Jamie Oliver titles, including Save With Jamie Season 1 (6 x 60’), Jamie And Jimmy’s Food Fight Club Season 2 (6 x 60’), Jamie’s Comfort Foods Season 1 (6 x 60’), etc. Fox Life is also on board to serve Save With Jamie throughout Latin America.
In the world of factual entertainment, the often disastrous world of body art will be heading to Latin America as Tattoo Nightmares: Miami (10 x 30’) premieres on Turner. Also in the factual genre, the quest to win auctions and acquire treasures will continue with Auction Hunters Season 5 (20 x 30’) on Turner as well. And the stakes will be even greater as Storage Wars Canada Season 2 (36 x 30’) heads to A&E Networks. Rounding out the factual genre will be Live from Abbey Road Season 5 (12 x 60’) and Untold History of the U.S. (10 x 30’), both premiering on Globosat in Brazil.
Globosat will also become the home of several of FMI’s prominent scripted dramas including Series 1 and 2 of the female prison world of Wentworth (Series 1-10 x 60’; Series 2 – 12 x 60’), the medical drama Monday Mornings (10 x 60’), and Full Circle (10 x 30’) from award-winning screenwriter, Neil LaBute.
In the world of scripted kids and family entertainment, HBO Family across Latin America has signed on for the third season of the spellbinding action-adventure series, Wizards vs Aliens (10 x 30’).
FMI’s sales throughout Latin America have also included extensive packages with both Millicom and Digital Latin America for programming on both their linear and digital platforms.
