Singapore – Beach House Pictures (BHP) garnered praise and multiple wins at the 19th Asian Television Awards last night.
The Singapore-based production house took top honours for its ABC series Kakadu, co-produced with Northern Pictures (Australia), which won Best Natural History or Wildlife Programme.
In the Best Entertainment Presenter/Host category, BHP and A+E Networks Asia claimed the win for Simon Yin host and adventurer on Hidden Cities Extreme (Season 2).
Along with the duel wins, BHP was honoured with three highly commended awards for: Best Documentary Programme, Himalayan Tsunami (Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific); Best Editing to Caspar Mazzotti for Kakadu; and Best Children’s Programme Kids vs Film 2 (Discovery Kids Asia), which beat out award favourite Nowhere Boys.
BHP was also a finalist in five other categories at this year’s awards, including Best Direction, Best Lifestyle Programme and Best General Entertainment Programme.
Speaking at the red carpet gala dinner, Managing Director Jocelyn Little, said the wins are testament to the amazing talent BHP has in house and the international crews and hosts it works with around the world, “It’s great to receive such praise from our industry peers, more so across so many different genres and programmes this year. Big thanks must also go to our broadcast partners who continually support our work and ideas.”
